Robin Baldwin has been a dedicated staff member of the IEEE Computer Society for more than 20 years. She currently heads the Editorial Services group as Publisher, overseeing the Computer Society staff that supports our 12 magazines and 20 transactions, as well as our anti-plagiarism efforts. Robin has played a key role in the volunteer-mandated conversion from print to digital magazines, ensuring that EICs were kept informed and that Membership and Marketing were in the loop. She also did the analysis and negotiations that led to the significant reduction in pricing for the print option from over $140 to $69.
Robin led the development, contracting, and production of the Computing Edge monthly digest, that promotes CS magazines to membership and others — as well as driving over $900K in advertising revenue. She is doing the same with Colloquium, which will promote all CS transactions to subscribers and reduce the high internal expense and production effort required for the current OnlinePlus mailers.
Robin manages our relationship with the Chinese publisher of Computer/China. She has made enormous inroads in the staff-to-staff relationship with IEEE Publishing Operations, and her support of volunteers in the IEEE Periodicals Committee and PRAC has been outstanding. Volunteers and IEEE staff look to her for guidance, information, and insight.
